Google is planning a major product release next week, just one month before for their renown anual conference, Google I/O 2012. It is called Google Drive and it is a cloud storage web app supported on Windows, Mac OSX, iOS and Android.

Google’s biggest competitor in this field is Dropbox, which currently offers only 2 GB of free storage to users (with a clever update system based on referrals and more). I have to say that Dropbox is working flawlessly and it is an amazingly designed product. Recently I have started using Dropbox for backup purpose and I have reached 4.25Gb of free storage.
On the other side, I have upgraded my Gmail storage to 20Gb and I hope that GDrive (short name) will see this as additional space. If Google makes things right I will drop Dropbox (I like the way it sounds :) ).
Meanwhile here are some articles about GDrive on TNW, Mashable and TechCrunch
Other information is not available at the moment, but I will update this page when Gdrive will be released ;)
