It uses all the same automated testing tools on your theme that WordPress.org uses for themes submitted to the site. The tests are run through a simple admin menu and all results are displayed at once. This is very handy for theme developers, or anybody looking to make sure that their theme supports the latest WordPress theme standards and practices.

I have also executed Theme Check on my, in-spare-time developed, Oceania theme. Apparently my theme would NOT make it to the WordPress.org theme directory … time to fix the bugs :)

TIPS: for better results, make sure you have WP_DEBUG is enabled! This can be done by adding in wp-config.php this code: define('WP_DEBUG', true);

I suggest you use this plugin because it may uncover many issues in your theme, that by fixing theme, will only make you wordpress based website better …
